Lab Director

Dr. Daniela Palombo (PhD) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is also a proud member of UBC’s Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health and Women’s Health Research Institute. Dr. Palombo is an expert in the study of memory, with a special focus on emotional aspects of memory. She also studies how memory intersects with imagination, including future thinking. Her research approach is multi-faceted: She uses a host of cognitive tasks, as well as virtual reality and neuroimaging methods (such as functional magnetic resonance imaging). Dr. Palombo is passionate about designing laboratory experiments that resemble naturalistic conditions to generalize from the lab to the real world.
